'The Crown' reigns for online TV at Sunday's Golden Globes

The 74th annual Golden Globe Awards, which aired Sunday, further proved online shows have truly arrived.

While traditional shows and movies still dominated -- theatrical release "La La Land" claimed a record seven awards -- original streaming shows definitely made their presence known.

The non-traditional shows made their mark right from the start, with Netflix drama "Stranger Things" earning a prime position in host Jimmy Fallon's opening number. (Barb lives!)

Razer's stunning prototypes stolen from CES, CEO reports

Razer had a great CES, wowing many with Project Valerie, a triple-screened laptop, and Project Ariana, a smart projector that makes use of the company's Chroma lighting to make your gaming experience more immersive.

But the trade show didn't have the happiest of endings, with Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan reporting that two prototype devices were stolen from the company's CES booth.

CES 2017: The final word

Fifty years from now, the CES show floor may be some hybrid of the real and virtual world, as telepresence minidrones hover and swoop through the aisles, beaming the scene back to our VR contact lenses. But in 2017, the 50th anniversary show was something that would've been an equally unrealistic sci-fi vision to attendees of the first electronics exhibition in 1967: wall-sized TVs as thin as a house key. Electric cars that can drive themselves. Tiny robots that stand guard in your home. And an entire house that you can control with your voice. All of them real, touchable and available to home consumers soon, if not already.

You can usually judge the impact of a truly special car by the questions you get when people see it. When I first reviewed the Tesla Model S, early in its production run, the first question was usually: "Is that a Tesla?" Years later, on the Model X, it was: "How do the doors work?" When it comes to most Ferraris and Lamborghinis, people want to know how fast they'll go or how much they cost.

 

2016 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk review:

THE GOOD

On paper it's got the most off-road capability in its class. The Cherokee comes with the excellent Uconnect system.

THE BAD

No Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The Cherokee has much less cargo space than competitors and the Trailhawk trim line suffers a bit on the pavement.

THE BOTTOM LINE

If you expect to go off-road, the Trailhawk is a great choice. However, if you plan to stay in civilization, the top-of-the-line Overland trim line may be the better choice.
